This is the story of Cooper
I would love to share my story of Cooper (AKA Clyde), our Bedlington Terrier, that was rescued via CRD through SRC. My husband, Ken and I, had lost two of our fur babies literally months apart. We needed time to grieve so after about a year, we missed the taps on the floor and after I had a sign from what I believe to be a greater power, I discovered Cooper and read his story. I knew at that moment it was time. I submitted our application and within a couple of days, we had a home visit scheduled. Once we were approved, I set up the meeting with Angela. Cooper ran over right away and began to give me kisses and that moment changed everything. From the original meet and greet and still to this day, Cooper meets me at the door and standing on his back legs, he is waiting to give kisses. He has always shown the love and kindness and simply rules the house. He is the rock star of our community and our church Christmas party and locals said, “Cooper, you have hit the jackpot”. However, it is my husband and I that hit the jackpot. Cooper is now completing training to become a therapy dog where I hope to take him to the local nursing home to visit with patients. Cooper has seen trauma in his life that I cannot imagine as he had lost a toe prior to his arrival in the USA. I owe so many thanks to CRD and the 11th Hour Rescue as well as the SRC for allowing us to parent Cooper. He never wants for anything and only gives love and kindness unlike any other.
