How do I adopt a pet?

The first step is to fill out the online adoption application.

I previously filled out an application. Can you use my old application?

We ask that if your application is more than 1 year old a new application is submitted. This ensures will have the most up to date information.

Do you have puppies?

Yes. We do have puppies that are rescued.

Vet Q&A: Are pets for adoption healthy?

Yes. Each dog must be healthy to be transported to the USA or Canada.

What are the adoption fees?

Each dogs adoption fees vary on a case by case basis. The fees are comparable to other rescues.

China Rescue Dogs provides all the necessary medical care, including vaccinations and spay/neuter for each dog. The fee also includes the transportation from China to a major international airport. The most common airports are Chicago, IL (ORD) and New York City (JFK). CRD spends on average $2000 per dog.

Where do your dogs come from?

China Rescue Dogs partners with rescues in China.

How long is the wait for a dog?

The usual wait time for a dog is 2-3 months. If you are interested in adopting a from China Rescue Dogs we suggest you fill out the online adoption application.

Each dog must be healthy to be able to make the 13 hour trip, all necessary import paperwork completed, and weather conditions. There are times that is either to cold or warm to safely transport from China. Each flight consists of 7 to 9 dogs normally twice a month.
